Should have gone for a short, quick run during my lunch break today. Luke got put off by the cold weather and the faintest of snow showers (which did not settle in Canary Wharf). We’ve postponed to Friday.
I debated whether to go by myself today but my legs pleaded a day of rest in prep for tomorrow’s club time trial. Am going to pretend Luke’s there the whole way nagging me to run quicker, guranteed PB I reckon
Not only did I survive the run tonight in the near freezing temps but I slayed College Hill. A few months ago I had to stop several times on this 1.5 miles of uphill. Did it in 1 go tonight. Its great to see progression.
Been stressed and busy with work this week. Felt completely worn out by the wkend. Running usually helps me get my head straight when I feel stressed so probably would have been fine to go running yesterday but somehow didn’t get to it. Woke up today and still couldn’t push myself out the door to run.
This is the first weekend off since I started training for my first marathon (The London Marathon, April 2012). Its fine. I think rest is also an important part of training. I’ve been obsessively good about training so far so I can afford a weekend off.
Back to training tomorrow. Monday session with the Crystal Palace Fun Runners.
